Voluptuous Vinyl Shellac Records

Shellac Records (78's)

From 1898 to about the late 1950's most of the worlds records were produced out of a material known as shellac, and commonly referred to as 78's based on their playback speed of 78 rpm.  These records were produced in 10" and 12" diameters and typically contained one track on each side.  Shellac records were much more brittle and prone to cracking and chipping if not well cared for, and require a stronger needle to play than the modern day vinyl record.

In this collection you will find our growing selection of 78's.  Please make sure you're turntable is capable of playing at 78 rpm, and that you have a separate needle that was specially made to play 78's.  Playing 78's with a normal needle will potentially damage a needle made for playing modern day vinyl.
