View More From: Brigitte Bardot
Je T'aime Moi Non Plus is a single written by Serge Gainsbourg in 1967 for then girlfriend Brigitte Bardot at her request for him to write the most beautiful love song he could. That night he wrote Je T'aime Moi Non Plus and Bonnie And Clyde and the two recorded both songs. Bardot's husband at the time found out about the song and got angry leading Bardot to plea with Gainsbourg not to release it. In 1968 Gainsbourg recorded the song with girlfriend Jane Birkin, which became the most well known recording. It wasn't until 1986, this release, that the Bardot recording was released which contains the recordings of both songs from that original 2-hour recording session.
