Speed Review: Jezebel's Kiss (1990) Family Ties March 28, 2021 12:12
A leather clad beauty finds herself stranded in a town of dying dreams, relying on the kindness of strangers to help her get back on her feet. While she takes advantage of their hospitality they take advantage of her physically, fully unaware that her presence in town is not a coincidence as she lures them into turning on each other.
Jezebel's Kiss is a melting pot of well known C-list actors most notably Malcolm McDowell and Family Ties mom Meredith Baxter. Let's get the obvious out of the way, the film is awful. It's so awful the entire cast seemed drunk the entire film, if they weren't it seems like an odd decision for them to be all be portraying their characters as such. But with dialogue this bad it doesn't surprise me they'd need to be intoxicated to make it through. While the plot of Jezebel avenging her grandfather is decent, everything else from the acting to the production value of the film (like really low audio levels) are certifiably bad.
With that said the silver lining is unknown Katherine Barrese as Jezebel. Supposedly a former model, in her only starring role, she's no worse than the rest of the cast of actual actors and she's pretty hot. To the credit of the writer / director, while the film is awful at least he had the sense to take advantage of the fact he had a hot model willing to bare all and actually gave her a bulk of the screen time, something those "geniuses" behind the early Pamela Anderson films (ex: Raw Justice & Snapdragon) failed to grasp. For that reason, and the fact the script and acting is so bad to the point it's actually kind of funny, Jezebel's Kiss is a slightly tolerable "thriller".
