La riffa [The Raffle] (1991) Widowed Wares For Sale October 8, 2021 08:00


The Raffle is surprisingly entertaining.  Most reviews write it off as odd or unfunny, but I think they failed to understand this film is not meant to be your typical Italian comedy (which I've seen my fair share of and typically am not a fan) this is much more of a "dramedy" or dark comedy, somewhere between Ostinato destino, which Bellucci would star in following this film, and the much more dramatic Vita coi figli.

Speed Review: Jezebel's Kiss (1990) Family Ties March 28, 2021 12:12


To the credit of the writer / director, while the film is awful at least he had the sense to take advantage of the fact he had a hot model willing to bare all and actually gave her a bulk of the screen time, something those "geniuses" behind the early Pamela Anderson films failed to grasp.

Hell Drivers (1957) - The Dump Truck Film November 8, 2019 09:00


At first Hell Drivers might not sound like much of a film, speeding around on the back roads of Europe hauling gravel, but as the film progresses the story beings to evolve into quite an interesting and exciting drama.

Sukkubus - den Teufel im Leib [Succubus - The Devil In The Body] (1989) - Milk, It Does A Body Good March 1, 2019 09:00


Sukkubus is a perfect example of how to completely squander an opportunity to make a truly classic euro-cult horror film by taking a unique setting and an incredibly sexy Italian model (whose willing to not wear anything), and spend most of the time following three herdsmen around doing their daily chores.

Casanova '70 (1965) - Marisa Mell Saves The Day September 15, 2018 12:30


Marisa Mell claimed this to be one of her most enjoyable film roles, taking into consideration her personality and hectic love life it's not surprising. Her performance manages to save this film from being another bland Italian comedy.

The age old story of disputed love between the wealthy and the poor.  How do you improve upon a plot that's been recycled since almost the beginning of time?  Well, Monica Bellucci in a corset or giving herself a sponge bath is a start.

Monica Bellucci is breathtaking, and it's interesting to see that her first on screen role essentially was the basis for the proactive roles she'd be known for taking on most of her career.  From day one she decided to follow the motto "if you've got it, flaunt it".
