If you're over the age of twenty and you've never seen the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World you're likely not familiar with Sabrina Carpenter.  Sabrina is the latest actress to come off the Disney Channel circuit and begin sowing her wild oats, a rite of passage for most Disney Channel actresses to quickly shed their wholesome image and begin to go all "Miley Cyrus". 

As someone who grew up watching the original Boy Meets World series, I have to admit the short lived reboot was definitely a guilty pleasure of mine and definitely brought back some fond memories.  Out of all the younger actors on the show I thought Sabrina by far had the the brightest future ahead of her and she seems to be plowing into that with full force.

This isn't her first foray into music she's released two albums back to back in 2015 and 2016, which seemingly flew under the radar.  Now that she's 19 and her Disney career is behind her she seems to be busting out the sexiness with this new single, Almost Love, to what I can only assume will lead to a third much more mature album.  As a pop music fan I find the song catchy, though if I'm being honest I like the recently released remix better as it adds a little more "bounce" to the song.  

What I like about Sabrina is she actually does have talent and a unique voice. This kind of song and music video doesn't really showcase that but I get she's attempting to re-brand her Disney image and fit into an already saturated market of oversexed pop divas.  I think how far she proceeds to take this will determine whether she simply gets lost in the sea of countless other female pop singers, or if she can keep her head above water and stand out as her own person.  She's got the talent, but in today's pop market talent really doesn't matter, it's turned into a image contest and who can outdo the next person.  I just hope she has her head on straight enough not to go off the deep end like all those Disney actors before her because I really think she a very cute and talented girl.
